Beautiful colors and fun to assemble! Nov 30, 2009

This was the first 1000-piece puzzle that I put together. I have just discovered that puzzles are a hobby of mine. My husband says I've literally stayed up until 2:00am working on this puzzle because I was so absorbed in it. I started with the edges of course, then worked on the house, chairs, ocean, and lastly sky. The colors are vibrant. I felt like I was sitting in one of the chairs looking out into the ocean. The pieces are mostly durable and intact, but there were several whose rounded edges were bent. That's why I gave it 4-stars. I'm still trying out puzzle companies to see which one(s)have the highest quality. So far, I think Ravensburger is the best (no bent edges and fit together perfectly), then followed by White Mountain. But I'll be ordering more puzzles so I'll let you know what I find!

This puzzle will take awhile! 1000 pieces, but the pieces are a decent size. If you love blue sky puzzles, this is the puzzle for you! Beautiful art in a fun puzzle!

Just a beautiful quality picture on this puzzle and good quality also. I really enjoyed doing this puzzle and it is in my "keeper" pile for re-use next year. I will order from this puzzle maker again for sure.

Not bad but not great Feb 02, 2010

It took about two weeks to put it together and was $16 when I ordered it. So it worked out to $1 and change a day of entertainment. You really cannot beat that. My issues with it were some of the pieces were bent or weak because of their cut. The puzzle also didn't match the picture in terms of scale. The roof was off and other items were closer or further than they appeared. Otherwise I was satisfied to complete a puzzle without losing a single piece to my scavenger of a dog.

I bought a bunch of puzzles from different companies (White Mountain, Ravensburger, Cobble Hill, MasterPieces, Buffalo) for me and my father to give my mom, and this was the first one she did. I had never heard of White Mountain Puzzles before, but I bought based on others' reviews re: quality and, of course, if I thought she'd like the picture. I helped her a little with it (I contributed about 20 pieces and then got bored) and we both thought the quality was very good. The pieces were all varied in shape (not uniform)--which we liked--and the pieces were definitely bigger than average (bigger than the 1000-piece Ravensburger she just started, also good quality). This puzzle has the blue board backing and is quite durable. None of the pieces bent and they were all in the box. It was a pretty picture and reminiscent of cottages on the New England coast. The picture had more of a glossy than matte finish. Personally I liked the matte finish on the Ravensburger better, but she didn't care. When she put it back in the box she was able to carefully lift whole sections without it breaking; the pieces fit and stayed together very well. She did it in 6 days and thought it was about medium difficulty. I'll definitely keep White Mountain in a list of puzzles that I plan to buy over the months/years ahead.
